Claudel is a third-party desktop GUI client that wraps Claude Code CLI. It is not an official Anthropic product. Claudel automatically installs and configures Claude Code during first launch — providing the visual interface, multi-terminal management, and skill marketplace on top of it.

Skills are reusable prompt templates that extend Claude Code's capabilities. Examples include code review checklists, session handoff automation, error pattern learning, and context budget tracking. They're markdown files installed into your ~/.claude/skills/ directory.
